Zum Begriff der Laktat-Clearance schrieben die Kollegen:<\/p>\n

\n

„A number of investigators\u00a0have used the term \u201clactate clearance\u201d\u00a0 to describe\u00a0decreasing lactate levels, but this is incorrect for two\u00a0reasons. The first is that the changes in lactate concentrations\u00a0over time reflect changes in production and in\u00a0elimination. The decrease in lactate over time may reflect\u00a0decreased (over)production more than increased\u00a0clearance by the liver and other organs. „<\/p>\n

„The second reason why use of the\u00a0term is incorrect is that \u201cclearance\u201d\u00a0 or \u201c elimination\u201d\u00a0 implies\u00a0a progressive normalization of blood lactate concentrations,\u00a0which is too simplistic. Blood lactate concentrations can\u00a0have a complex evolution and may even increase over time, a situation that one should then call \u201c negative\u00a0lactate clearance\u201d .“<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
